This coming week, the City of Manila will celebrate its Manila Day June 24, 2008. Also this week, Manila City hall officials will be screening rank and file city employees, who city officials believed are among the past administration appointees. Under executive order, all city employees who are hired and work in the city hall from past administration will be subjected to a panel inquiry as part of Mayor Fred Lim, crackdown on all rank and file employees. In this regard, this lowly city employees will be reassigned and transfered to a worst and dirtiest job for the Mayor’s satisfaction. Nonetheless, the city employees has to suffer the consequences of working graveyard shift at Manila Boys Town, Marikina and will be floated at BASECO, Manila and the worst, assigning at the North and South Cementery who in one way or another against their will in accordance on Civil Service Law. This employees, whom some of them are currently assigned on various city hall departments are directly involved in major restoration and development programs for the City of Manila residents. Either you are competent and efficient enough to handle your current position the Office of the Mayor, The City Legal Office, The City Administrator Office and the Office of the Secretary are bound together to see to it all of this city employees are reassigned and pulled off from their current positions as part of Mayor Lim vindictiveness against past administration. Many asked, why should these lowly rank and file city hall employees have to suffer and deserved to be hit from the fires of bullets hurdled upon by the City Mayor from his stunning “lintik lang ang walang ganti!” and “bahala kayo sa buhay nyo!” remarks during last monday June 16, 2008 morning briefing at the flag cremony with all city employees present that morning. If the respected city Mayor has some grudges against the Atienza’s, why on earth this rank and file employees be lineup for firing squad? Manila has suffering from various criminal activities, many residents are longing for local government helped from startavation cause by rising prices of basic goods and services and yet vindictiveness still in mayor’s agenda for the City of Manila.
